My client for this project came up with the design himself having looked at a number of scandinavian modernist sideboards. The unit houses a high quality music system so the door panels are made from a special acoustic fabric that allows to sound to pass through with minimal interference. The material also allows the system’s remote control to operate with the doors shut. The leg frame of the cabinet is made from american white oak whilst the main carcase is oak veneered MDF with solid oak lipping. The side doors have touch release magnetic catches and the central door is an up and over type that slides back in under the top. Cable access and ventilation is provided by an opening in the cabinet’s back panel.
